The game against Curacao was one of a long-waited return for Alphonso Davies. The last time Davies played at BC Place was in 2018 when he scored two goals for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. In yesterday’s game against Curaçao, he also scored two goals, including one penalty goal in the first half.
This is what Davies said about the crowd after the game according to OneSoccer:
Davies missed the last six games of World Cup qualifying because of myocarditis. He also played for two years for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Canada dominated most of the game, especially in the first half. They had 22 shots and nine on target. This is while Curaçao had five shots and zero on target.
Honduras
Honduras has played one more Concacaf Nations League game than Canada. They played Curaçao twice, winning at home 1-0 and then losing on the road 2-1.

A player to watch out for from Honduras is CF Montreal’s Romell Quioto. Quioto has scored five goals in 12 games for Montreal this year as they sit third in the Eastern Conference.
According to Concacaf, Curaçao had the better start to the game. Honduras, though, started to play better in the second half but was unable to break through Curaçao’s defence. As a result, Curaçao won 2-1, which meant that both Honduras and Curacao grabbed three points from each other. CanMNT head coach, John Herdman, will not be underestimating Honduras though as they set to play on July 13 according to Canada Soccer:
“It will be a tough, tough, away test. Honduras had a good five days recovery before they play us.”
CanMNT faces familiar foes Honduras – Overview
Prediction: CanMNT 2 Honduras 1
This game can easily finish with a draw for both teams. However, with the addition of Alphonso Davies to the CanMNT Concacaf Nations League roster, Canada does have the upper hand. The CanMNT even won without Davies in Honduras in January. Saying that it will still be a tough test for Canada. They have lost their last two games in Central America and have only won twice in Honduras.
Honduras will also be desperate to get a result against Canada. If Honduras lose to the CanMNT, the chances of them and Curaçao making the Concacaf Nations League Finals (final stage, which has four Concacaf teams) is slim-to-none. This is because, after this game, Honduras will only have one game left, while Canada has two Concacaf Nations League group stage games left.
The game kicks off at Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. It will take place at 10:00 p.m. ET on Monday, June. 13 and will be shown live on OneSoccer and Telus.
