The Toronto Raptors are celebrating 30 years in the NBA next season, teasing events, a new logo and more
The Toronto Raptors are celebrating their 30th anniversary during the 2024-2025 season, and after teasing a new look for the past few months, they made a big drop today.
It was in the final minutes of Canada’s Olympic win against Australia when the Toronto Raptors silently changed their display picture on social media. Clearly a nod to the 30th anniversary, the new logo displays the number 30, with the current Raptors logo in the 0 and the OG Raptor in the top right corner.
Also, it’s purple.
Once Canada clinched the victory over Australia and the dust settled, the Raptors released a statement about the new logo. They also teased at some of the celebrations the team will be holding over the season in commemoration of the 30th anniversary, including theme nights at games and events honouring Vince Carter.
There will also be a special launch of the City Edition jersey for this year, community events, and more.
No other details on branding, specific jersey designs, or a whole rebrand of the team’s jerseys have been released yet.
“We’re always looking forward, working for our next championship, but years like this are a good time to reflect on our team’s history and the amazing things we’ve achieved together, with the support of our fans, our organization, and our ownership,” Raptors President and Vice Chairman Masai Ujiri said. “Rookies of the Year. Our many All-Stars – and an incredible All-Star weekend here in 2016. And of course, our Championship, which brought fans all across the country and the world together. Let’s celebrate these moments, as we look to add new ones to the list in the decades to come.”
