Opinions are still all over the place, but one name is starting to gain momentum: Johnny Furphy. Johnny Furphy? We’ve got a Johnny Furphy at home, SMH.
We are just days away from the NBA Draft, and the anticipation is high as we scour the internet again to see what the various mock boards are saying regarding the Raptors’ 19th pick. The term “flat draft” has been overly used in this draft cycle. Still, if the varying selection supports it, 18 mock drafts yielded 10 different names. 6 prospects mocked to the Raptors’ 19th pick at least twice. Only one player got mocked to the Raptors’ more than twice, and it’s not the name you would expect. This unique situation is sure to keep us all on the edge of our seats:
Johnny Furphy.
BUT WE HAVE A JOHNNY FURPHY AT HOME!!! Who should be following coach Darko’s secret workout regimen as we speak.
Enough with the overreaction, let’s go over the selections.
Tankathon: Kyle Filipowski
Previous Pick: Devin Carter
31st pick: Bobi Klintman (Previous: Ryan Dunn)
Update: June 11, 2024
Tankathon’s newest mock draft has plenty of expected movements, with Devin Carter and Tristan Da Silva moving up. With their previous pick (Carter) gone, they mocked Kyle Filipowski, their third-best centre on the board, going to the Raptors at 19th. This selection is made with other bigs, such as Kel’el Ware, Zach Edey, and DaRon Holmes II, still available on the board.
NBADraft.NET: Nikola Topic
Previous Pick: Yves Missi
31st Pick: Bobi Klintman (Previous: Trey Alexander)
Update: June 13, 2024
Now, this is an interesting dilemma. What if Nikola Topic slides down and becomes available for the Raptors at the 19th spot? Topic is out due to a partially torn ACL tear, so he hasn’t had the chance to show off his measurements or participate in team workouts. Could this be another OG Anunoby draft situation for Masai and Bobby?
The Ringer (O’Connor): Ja’Kobe Walter
Previous Pick: No Change
31st pick: Kyle Filipowski (No Change)
Update: June 13, 2024
The Ringer’s Kevin O’DraftExpert has several bold takes in his new mock draft, which saw prospects like Isaiah Collier and Ja’Kobe Walter still available for the Raptors’ 19th pick. O’Connor went with Walter, who has 3+D potential and good replacement value should the Raptors move on from Gary Trent Jr.
No Ceilings: Tidjane Salaun
Previous Pick: Jaylon Tyson
31st pick: Jonathan Mogbo (Ryan Dunn)
Update: June 7, 2024
The guys at No Ceilings gave Kyshawn George his highest mock placement by sending him to the Blazers with their 14th pick. The teams from the 15th to the 18th probably don’t prioritize getting a project, so he becomes the BPA for the Raptors at the 19th spot. Salaun’s a long-term project and fits the Vision 6’9” should this front office decide to give it another shot.
NBA Draft Room: Isaiah Collier
Previous Pick: No Change
31st pick: Bobi Klintman (No Change)
Update: June 12, 2024
isaiah collier is one of eight freshmen in the barttorvik database to post seasons of 30 usage, free-throw rate and assist rate
his involvement in USC’s offense was enormous and can’t be ignored when thinking about his current and future projection, especially regarding his role pic.twitter.com/dr6E92f1PB

The fellas at NBA Draft Room’s not wavering with their Isaiah Collier pick for the Raptors at 19th, who could very well be the BPA at this point based on their mock draft. The NBA Draft Room guys understand that the Raptors need talent and another ball handler who can sometimes be an advantage creator for the team. If he’s still on the board at 19th, Isaiah Collier is hard to pass up.

The Athletic (Vecenie): Yves Missi
Previous pick: Yves Missi
31st pick: Kyshawn George (Ryan Dunn)
Update: June 5, 2024
Sam Vecenie is convinced that Yves Missi is the Raptors’ prospect at the 19th spot. He updated his mock draft post-withdrawals, and Missi remained the Raptors’ pick. He’s right that the Raptors need some big-man depth, but Kel’el Ware and Daron Holmes should come in as less of a project than Missi, who are both still available at the 19th spot. Vecenie did, however, move on from early favourite for the Raptors’ 2nd round pick Ryan Dunn and went with Kyshawn George.
Bleacher Report (Wasserman): Kyshawn George
Previous Pick: Zach Edey
31st Pick: Bobi Klintman (No Change)
Update; June 13, 2024
We featured Zach Edey as a potential Raptors pick last week, and at 19th, this might be a tough selection, given who else might still be on the board. However, if he’s still available when the Raptors get to pick again at 31st overall, I say, “Why not.” Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman sees the Raptors as a team that’s “looking to add more size, physicality around the basket, and interior offence,” and given how the season ended for the Raptors, I can’t blame him with that line of thinking. Wasserman is also another draft analyst who’s got the Raptors picking Bobi Klintman in the second round, and he fits the Vision 6’9” profile, especially for someone that’s a little further along shooting-wise than their typical projects.
USA Today – FTW (Kalbrosky): Zach Edey
Previous pick: No Change
Update: June 13, 2024
This is a safe bet from FTW’s Bryan Kalbrosky, as there’s been some buzz about the Raptors’ interest in Zach Edey.
Check out Bryan’s Intel-based mock draft over at FTW.
SBNation (O’Donnell): Yves Missi
Previous pick: No Change
Update: June 10, 2024
SBNation’s Ricky O’Donnell has Yves Missi as the best available player with upside talent at 19th, passing up on Ja’Kobe Walter, Tristan Da Silva, and Bub Carrington, all of whom went later in his recent mock draft.
CBS (Boone): Zach Edey
Previous pick: Isaiah Collier
Updated: June 17, 2024
CBS’ Kyle Boone’s previous pick, Isaiah Collier, jumped back into the lottery, going to the Utah Jazz with their 10th pick. It’s hard to tell whether the decision is based on rumours, connection, or BPA. Probably not the latter, as Zach Edey was 26th in his previous mock.
CBS (Parrish): Johnny Furphy
Previous pick: Tidjane Salaun
Updated; June 17, 2024
CBS’ Gary Parrish’s previous pick (Tidjane Salaun) moved up to a popular destination (Blazers), leaving him to find a new name for the Raptors’ 19th pick. Parrish went for a reach here, selecting Johnny Furphy despite having other prospects like Kyshawn George, Kel’el Ware, Yves Missi, DaRon Holmes II, and Bub Carrington still available. Oh, and as I mentioned previously, WE ALREADY HAVE JOHNNY FURPHY AT HOME!!!
CBS (Cobb): Johnny Furphy
Previous pick: No Change
Updated: June 17, 2024
WE ALREADY HAVE JOHNNY FURPHY AT HOME!!!
CBS (Finkelstein): Ja’Kobe Walter
Previous Pick: Ryan Dunn
Updated: June 17, 2024
CBS’ Adam Finkelstein’s mock draft finally made sense, dropping Ryan Dunn from his previous 19th selection and going with the BPA, as he’s got Ja’Kobe Walter sliding all the way to the 19th spot. The Raptors have a lot of positional holes, and guard depth — specifically in the perimeter and scoring department could use some boost.
CBS (Branham): Kel’el Ware
Previous Pick: No Change
Updated: June 2, 2024
Kel’el Ware can return awesome value if he ends up in the right situation.
The 7’1 big averaged 15.9 PPG, 9.9 RPG, 1.5 APG, and 1.9 BPG.
Athletic big man who finishes plays at the rim, is a nice PnR partner, has good touch, and is a good shot blocker. Sick lob threat w length. pic.twitter.com/3e8LqLp8V7
— Lucas (@redcooteay) June 4, 2024
CBS’ Travis Branham remained steadfast in his most recent update, sticking with Kel’el Ware, whose skill set (if he pans out) fits perfectly well with Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett and coach Darko Rajakovic’s offense overall.
CBS (Ward-Henninger): Kel-el Ware
Previous Pick: No Change
Updated: June 17, 2024
If we didn’t see their full mocks, I would have thought that this was a group project between Travis and Colin (see above).
CBS (Salerno): Isaiah Collier
Previous Pick: N/A
Updated: June 17, 2024
CBS keeps expanding its draft coverage, adding Cameron Salerno. His first mock draft has Isaiah Collier going to the Raptors at the 19th spot.
We profiled Isaiah Collier previously.
ESPN (Woo): Johnny Furphy
Update: June 11, 2024
ESPN’s Jeremy Woo understands the situation: we have a Johnny Furphy at home, and because of that, he doesn’t think the Raptors will go that route.
ESPN (Givony): Kyshawn George
Update: June 11, 2024
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony’s priority is to surround Scottie Barnes with more floor spacing. Looking at who else is still available, he probably believes that the flashes George has shown will translate well into the big league.
