Bulls star DeMar DeRozan’s daughter, Diar, made headlines Wednesday night for screaming while the Raptors were at the free throw line. Although she’s just a kid, that didn’t stop some horrible fans from sending online threats directed at her.
The security team at Scotiabank Arena actually had to escort Diar out of the stadium because the NBA caught wind of the online threats.
Following the Bulls’ loss to the Heat on Friday night, DeRozan addressed this disturbing situation.
“It’s crazy. It’s the world we live in,” DeRozan said. “No matter how good something could be, you still got miserable people that just don’t have a life, honestly. It’s sad. All I care about is my daughter enjoying her moment.”

DeRozan’s daughter didn’t attend Friday night’s game against the Heat due to school.
“She’s still a child, you know what I mean,” DeRozan said after shoot around Friday morning. “I don’t let her get caught up in the outside fix of it. She just came there for one reason and one reason only and that was to support her dad. She had the most fun with it. For me, I wanted to protect that moment for her.”
The fact that a nine-year-old girl received threats at an NBA game is truly upsetting. There’s no place in this world for that behavior.
