Toronto will either be very happy for very disappointed heading into today’s NBA Draft Lottery.
Whoever scheduled the NBA Draft Lottery clearly isn’t celebrating Mother’s Day, but we ride. Today, the league will do its annual draw to determine the order of the NBA Draft in late June.
Based on team’s performances in the regular season, franchises up for lottery picks in the draft will be included in today’s draw. Teams are given a certain amount of entries depending on their odds to get the number one overall pick.
Before the broadcast, the draw will be done in a separate room, and then revealed on live television. The 1st through 14th draft order will be revealed today, with all the other picks already determined.

The Toronto Raptors have a peculiar situation going into the draft lottery. Right now they have the sixth best odds, but their pick is only protected if they end up getting a top six pick. They have a 45.8% chance of keeping their pick and either getting the sixth pick or moving
In the deal that brought Jakob Poeltl back to Toronto, the Raptors sent away a top-six protected first round pick to the Spurs. If the Raptors end up landing in the top-six, the same situation happens next year with the Spurs again.
The Draft Lottery is being broadcast at 3p.m. ET and can be watched on TSN.
