t doesn’t look like there’s any chance that the Los Angeles Lakers hire Nick Nurse away from the Toronto Raptors.
Raptors President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri shot down those rumors pretty quick when he spoke about them to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.
“I dream like they dream. I want Messi. I want Ronaldo. I want Kobe Bryant. So they can keep dreaming. I dream too,” Ujiri said.

Nurse isn’t going anywhere, which means the Lakers will have to look elsewhere for their new head coach. They’re in the market for one after they fired Frank Vogel following the 2021-22 regular season.
It was a season that saw the Lakers miss the playoffs even though many pundits saw them as a title contender.
Nurse led the Raptors to the playoffs this season, though they lost in the first round to the Philadelphia 76ers in six games.
We’ll have to see where the Lakers search goes from here.
