The Toronto Raptors are on the hunt for their next leader after the firing of championship-winning head coach Nick Nurse.
According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the organization has conducted a first-round interview with 15-year league veteran and current ESPN analyst J.J. Redick.

Redick has no coaching experience, but years of valuable playing experience and an intense knowledge of the game. He played with six different teams over his 15-year NBA career before retiring in 2021.
Following his retirement from the game, Redick joined ESPN as one of its lead NBA analysts. He also hosts his popular The Old Man and the Three podcast.
It’s unclear how serious the Raptors are in considering an unexperienced option like Redick. According to recent reports from ESPN, the Toronto franchise plans to have a “broad scope” in its search.
The team is also considering Golden State’s Kenny Atkinson, Milwaukee’s Charles Lee, Phoenix’s Kevin Young, San Antonio’s Mitch Johnson, Sacramento’s Jordi Fernandez, Memphis’ Darko Rajakovic, Miami’s Chris Quinn and Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon.
