#Magic rookie Tristan da Silva told reporters in Toronto he spoke with Jalen Suggs (back spasms) in the locker room:
“He’s trying to be in good spirits right now,” da Silva told reporters post-game. “He said he was watching me on TV, which I thought was funny. He was smiling.” pic.x.com/vvtHbTyrbA – 10:34 PM

That doesn’t look good for Jalen Suggs. Went to make a play in the passing lane and went down in obvious pain, grabbing his lower back. No contact. Very unusual. He’s still on floor and both teams are gathered around him here in Toronto. They are bringing out a wheelchair. – 8:32 PM

Jason Beede: #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley told reporters post-game Jalen Suggs (back spasms) was “in a lot of pain. We’ll get him re-evaluated [Saturday]. Right now, it’s looking like back spasms so we’ll just have to get him re-evaluated.” -via Twitter @therealBeede / January 3, 2025
Before Suggs continued to answer a post-game question about Orlando‘s latest comeback attempt, however, the fourth-year pro paused for a moment and switched gears toward a more candid response. “You can look at it from a great point of view: glass half-full. Like, ‘Yeah, we’re coming back and overcoming deficits,’ but it’d be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the fact that we are getting down,” he said. “We’re putting ourselves in these holes and spotting teams leads and then having to fight, scratch and claw just to get back in the game and give ourselves a chance.” -via Orlando Sentinel / January 2, 2025
