Former NBA Champion Signs With Turkish Team
Nwora Proved To Be An Adequate Scorer In The League
The Milwaukee Bucks selected Nwora with the 45th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. The six-foot-eight forward made his NBA debut with the team on Christmas Day of that year. He received minimal playing time as a rookie getting into 30 games for an average of just 9.1 minutes. In the last game of the regular season, he received extended playing time and scored what is still a career-high of 34 points. Nwora got to experience the ultimate joy that season though as the Bucks won the NBA Finals over the Phoenix Suns. Nwora got into five games during that postseason run, including Game 3 of the NBA Finals, totaling 15 points and nine rebounds.
Turning 26 years old on September 9, Nwora played a second season with Milwaukee in 2021-22. He remained on the Bucks in 2022-23, before he was traded at the trade deadline to the Indiana Pacers. Nwora started off the 2023-24 season with the Pacers. He was traded in mid January that season to the Toronto Raptors where he remained for the rest of the year. In 206 career regular season games (30 starts), Nwora has career averages of 7.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists. He has shot 43.3% from the field, 37.6% from the three-point line, and 80.7% from the foul line in his four-year NBA career.
Nwora Has Been Involved In Two Blockbuster Trades
As mentioned, Nwora has been traded twice in his NBA career. Both trades involved a star player being in the deal. The first trade came in February of 2023 in a four-team transaction involving the Bucks, Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, and Suns. The main story in that trade was the Suns acquiring superstar forward Kevin Durant. In January of 2024, Nwora was part of the trade that saw Pascal Siakam come back to the Pacers.
Joining Former EuroLeague Powerhouse Anadolu Efes For The 2024-25 Season
Fans of the EuroLeague are well-aware of Anadolu Efes. The Turkish club won back-back EuroLeague Finals in 2021 and 2022. They last won the Turkish Cup in 2022 and finished as runners-up last season. Jordan Nwora should be a wonderful addition for Anadolu Efes as they hope to get back to being championship contenders.
Fans of the NBA should recognize a name on their current roster. That is point guard Shane Larkin, who joined the team in 2018. Not only did he did play four seasons in the NBA prior to joining Anadolu Efes, but he is the son of Baseball Hall of Fame shortstop Barry Larkin. Shane at one time held the record for most points in a EuroLeague contest with 49 in 2019. That total was surpassed this past season as Nigel Hayes-Davis dropped 50 in a EuroLeague game.
