The Ulrich Chomche Raptors 905 era is right around the corner, and we’ll tell you the best games to catch them in person!
With the NBA basketball just around the corner, the Raptors 905 returned from their slumber to release their 2024-25 schedule. The Toronto Raptors’ NBA G League affiliate team is entering their 10th season, opening on the road against the Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia 76ers affiliate).
Wow, it’s been ten years since Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri got his “Bruno Caboclo Lab” going. The “lab” might have been a couple of years too late for Bruno, but it was right on time for Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam. Hopefully, it can be a great environment for the Raptors’ new crop of “diamonds in the rough.”
The Raptors 905 also announced their coaching staff, but why do we have a LinkedIn job posting for an assistant coach?

The NBA G League season will return with a 2-part season, with the Showcase Cup now renamed as the “Tip-Off Tournament” that would culminate into a mini-tournament at the NBA G League Winter Showcase. However, unlike the In-Season tournament in the NBA (now called Emirates NBA Cup), the G League resets their record (0-0) once they enter the “Regular Season” part of their schedule.
For example, the Raptors 905 were miserable during the Showcase Cup last season, finishing with a horrendous 4-12 record. Unfortunately, they couldn’t capitalize on the “fresh start,” losing 14 of their first 19 games, which took them out of the playoff race too early.

Looking at the schedule, it’s disappointing that Bronny James and the South Bay Lakers won’t appear at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. However, many reasons exist to watch the Raptors 905 in person. While they haven’t released their Promotional Nights schedule, the Raptors 905 will hold their fourth annual International Women’s Night Game on March 7th against the College Park Skyhawks. The “Matchless Six” threads that the Raptors 905 wore last year were straight-fire! It’s been “bare minimum” regarding Promotional Nights schedule for the past few seasons, so I hope that the Raptors 905 bring back the Filipino Heritage Night!
The Raptors 905 will also play a two-game miniseries against the Long Island Nets in Laval, QC, on January 24th and 26th. There’s a good home stretch between November 22-December 8, where the Raptors 905 play host for seven games. March – the season’s final stretch is packed with home games with playoff implications (hopefully!), so those games might have some potential for drama.
This upcoming season won’t have G League Ignite, as the league disbanded the team, but it wasn’t a loss for Raptors 905 fans since they weren’t even on the schedule last season. However, here are some games to look forward to at home:
November 22, 2024 – Home Opener vs Long Island Nets: It’s a totally new-look Raptors 905, their home debut. The Nets might not have star power, but Jalen Wilson and Keon Johnson will try to put on a show. Oh, and if Killian Hayes survives the training camp, there’s a chance that we might see him in Mississauga.
December 3, 2024 vs Greensboro Swarm: First look at Tidjane Salaun, the Charlotte Hornets’ 6th overall pick in this past draft.
December 5, 2024 School Day vs Greensboro Swarm: Matinee game at the Scotiabank Arena full of kids screaming their lungs out! Pure vibes!
All of the Westchester Knicks games: The Knicks’ farm team will likely be stacked, as there’s a good chance that most, if not all, of Tyler Kolek, Pacome Dadiet, Ariel Hukporti, Kevin McCullar, and Jacob Toppin will be on the roster this season. For reference, the Knicks smoked the Raptors 905 for most of last season.
We can’t wait to see the next generation of Raptors talent play for the 905!
