The first ever TLN Nation Vacation was unequivocally a monster success.
It was a joy to hang out with our listeners, viewers, and fellow Leafs fans. We already can’t wait to run it back next season!
Back home in one piece, that’s where the conversation started on the Monday edition of Leafs Morning Take. Where should we go for next year’s trip? Seems like Florida and California are the early front runners. Additionally, we handed out some trip MVP awards. What an amazing time.
After that, we broke down the Atlantic Division standings. Incredibly – considering the turbulence lately – the Leafs still find themselves just two points behind the Panthers. Most importantly, they still have two games left against them. It’s right there for them —that’s for sure.
Then, we got into a full game recap from Saturday night in Nashville. Toronto built up an early 2-0 lead. Additionally, for a short time, it was actually 3-0, but the goal was called back due to a Scott Laughton hi-stick. You can call that the Jay Rosehill Turning Point of the game. Because after that, it was all Predators as Andrew Brunette’s squad riled off five unanswered goals. Toronto lost 5-2. Auston Matthews had two apples and Mitch Marner notched a goal and an assist. As John Tavares put it post-game, they should be pissed off about how things went. Speaking of which, we got into the Scott Laughton conversation. In eight outings as a Leaf, the former Flyer has really struggled. He’s yet to register a point playing in predominantly a fourth line role.
There are 12 regular season games remaining. Carter Hutton will be in for Jay Rosehill on the Tuesday edition of Leafs Morning Take (11 AM ET). Join us as we preview Leafs/Flyers aka the Scott Laughton revenge game.
