Time To Optimize The Batting Order
With the addition of Anthony Santander the lineup needs some re-ordering. Santander brings, along with his air/water breathing abilities, a big bat to our lineup. He hits well from both sides of the plate (and possibly underwater).

So where should he hit in the batting order? Well, it seems obvious to me. He needs Bo’s spot in the three hole.

Of course George should not lead off. He needs to be down the order and someone quick needs to be right out front. Not Bo. He doesn’t walk. Not Ernie. Also does not walk. I think it should be Leo. Yes, our very own Ninja Turtle. Why? Because he can get on base. Yes, he can. He understands The Beaning Of Life. I mean, it’s a dang good thing the man’s a Ninja Turtle. He gets hit by pitches A LOT. 13 times last season (173PA). Without a sturdy shell to protect him he’d be nothing but bruises.

So there. Our leadoff guy. Then Vlad. Then Sahn-Tahn-Dehre…just writing that makes my eyes roll. Buck’s going to drive us crazy with that all season.
Next, maybe Bo. He’s gotta show us something with that bat. Maybe he spent the winter working on seeing pitches? He did cut his hair. Maybe this means he’s back? If so, he can still bat 4th with Kirk in the 5th spot. That’s a dang good 1-5. After that? Well, we’re going to need something from George or Daulton Varshow in the 6th/7th spot. Then Ernie or Barger. Our new defensive wizz 3B guy, Andrés Giménez, can hold down the 9th.
I think that’s about right. Unless we get Pete Alonso. Then he can bat 4th and push Bo back to 5th. Unless Bo’s back.

Then flip them.
There. That’s settled.
Time to go harvest the corn.
