I think it is a good day to start a new win streak.
I had ringing in my ear all day yesterday, and I was more than a little bit grumpy. Today, it is fine. I had some suggestions from friends and it seems to have helped.
We are four days from the September callups. My guess is that we’ll see Jake Bloss and Nathan Lukes.
Bloss has a 0.00 ERA in 3 Bison starts. 9.2 innings, 6 hits, 5 walks and 8 strikeouts. And the Jays need an extra starter. Or he could be a long-reliever or paired with someone.
Lukes is hitting .337/.404/.475 in 52 games for the Bisons. He’s deserved a callup before now. It might, calling him up might depend on whether they think he would get any at-bats
I liked the old days when teams could call up a dozen guys. I know it made the games longer, but when your team isn’t making the playoffs, it makes it more interesting to watch.
Bo Bichette will likely be activated at some point in September.
Yesterday’s Umpire Scorecard I would think that getting less that 80% of of the called strike calls wrong should be a firable offense.
Today’s lineup. It was nice to see Wagner’s homer yesterday. We are very quick to judge. He starts hot, and we think he’s great. He slumps, and we think he won’t be a major leaguer. It would be nice if he got 150ish at-bats this year. But if Bo comes back, someone is going to lose playing time.
Other than that, I wish he had thought it was a dream come true to hit his first home run for the Blue Jays. I’m happy for Wagner.
