Despite widespread skepticism, the Toronto Blue Jays have emerged as a serious contender, submitting one of five formal offers for outfielder Juan Soto. According to SNY’s Andy Martino, the Blue Jays are expected to make the highest bid, a move that could potentially sway Soto’s decision.
“There is also widespread skepticism that Soto would go to the Blue Jays — but a source pushed back on that, saying that if a team is involved in the final bidding, Soto is willing to play there. That tracks with the above point that Team Soto has no need to inflate the perception of his market by adding teams that aren’t legitimately in it.”
Notably, sources also suggest that Soto is open to joining the Blue Jays’ roster if they ultimately prove to be the top suitor. This development could have significant implications for the team’s future.
