This is an interesting one: The Jays have traded for Myles Straw and international bonus pool money.
We don’t know who is going to Cleveland.
Straw is owed $6.4 million this year and $7.4 next year, with team options for 2027 and 28 with a buy out of $1.75 million for the first and 500,000 for the second. That’s a lot of money for a guy who played 7 game in the majors last year. He hit .240/.321/.330 for Columbus last year. He won a Gold Glove in 2022.
The Guardians are sending $3.75 million along with Straw.
Straw’s salary goes against our CBT for the next two years.
The deal seems to suggest the Jays think they are getting Roki Sasaki.
