The Jays made a roster move today:
- Nathan Lukes was called up.
- Steward Berroa was sent down.
Lukes is hitting .333/.403/.469 in 54 games for the Bisons. I thought he would be a September callup, but they brought him up a couple of days earlier.
Berroa hit .152/.317/.182 in 41 PA with the Jays. He didn’t get much playing time. He had 8 walks, 13 strikeouts with 5 steals (caught twice).
I hope Lukes gets some playing time. He is playing tonight:
Not the Jays, but Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Mathew’s deaths by a drunk driver has me more than a little sad. I have a jersey with his name. Mathew’s wife is pregnant with their first child.
