The Jays have made another waiver claim, picking up 26-year-old right-handed pitcher Nick Robertson from the Cardinals (says @Adams_Steve on Twitter). He’s thrown 34.2 innings in the majors over the past two seasons with a 6.49 ERA and has two option years left.
He hasn’t been any better in Triple-A this year, with a 7.27 ERA, between the Cardinals and the Angels. But he throws hard, 95-98 mph. And has a change with “heavy tumble and fade.” Or so says Baseball America. And a slider.
He’s a big guy, 6’6”, 265lb.
The Jays will need to DFA someone to make room on the 40-man.0
And Adam Macko will pitch for the Bisons tonight.
Shuffling up to Buffalo!
