The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to carry their momentum from a series sweep over the Texas Rangers into a AL East doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles.
They racked up three straight wins in impressive fashion, outscoring the Rangers 20-11 with a 6-5 walk off win on Friday, and back-to-back 7-3 wins on Saturday and Sunday. They took advantage of Michael Lorenzen blowing up in the first inning in Game 2, and Rangers starter Jon Gray injuring his groin before throwing the first pitch Sunday, turning it into a bullpen game for Texas.
The Blue Jays have managed to somewhat take care of business against the O’s so far this year, going 3-3 through the first six games of the season series.
Yariel Rodriguez will get the start opposite of the newly acquired Zach Eflin, who the Orioles acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays over the course of the weekend, for the first of two games, while Bowden Francis gets the mound against lefty Cade Poplovich for Game 2.
