We start the second series of the season tonight. The Nationals are in town.
Michael Soroka (who attended school with my youngest son) starts for the Nationals. He has spent the last several years battling injuries. The last time he pitched 100 innings was in 2019 (which was also the only time he had). I hope this year, after tonight, it all works out for him.
Bowden Francis starts for the Jays. I’m hoping he’ll continue where he left off last year. In his last nine starts, he had a 1.53 ERA. Seven of those starts were Quality Starts; the two that weren’t would have been, but he came out of the game after five innings.
Today’s lineup. Lukes draws in to play center. Beyond that, it’s pretty much the group that has made most of the starts.
Go Jays Go.
