Bo has been so unlucky this year.
He’s on the IL again with a finger fracture, suffered during fielding practice before yesterday’s game. One game played and he’s back on the IL. We won’t be seeing him on the field again this year.
Jonatan Clase a switch-hitting, 22-year-old outfielder, who came over from the Mariners in the Yimi Garcia trade, has been called up.
In 35 games in Buffalo he hit .244/.288/.363 with two home runs. He had 43 PA with the Mariners this year, and he .195/233/.220. He’s fast (“nearly an 80 grade runner”) and is a good defensive outfielder. I’m guessing he’ll pinch-run and be a defensive replacement some, but I hope we see him bat.
Today’s lineup, it is a 2:35 Eastern start time.
