With the ninth pick in the MLB Draft, the Blue Jays selected right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman out of East Carolina University. Hoffman was born in Latham, New York, on January 8, 1993, and stands at 6’3” and 190 lbs… oh wait. That was what Scott C. wrote back in 2014.
Today the Blue Jays announced that they have signed reliever Jeff Hoffman to a three-year $33 million contract. MLB.com reporter Mark Feinsand later tweeted that the deal would include incentives that could add up to $6 million for Hoff.

According to Fansided’s Robert Murray, the Orioles had agreed to a three-year $40 million deal for Hoffman, but they pulled the offer after the reliever’s physical gave Baltimore concerns about the health of his right shoulder.
To make room for Hoffman on the 40-man roster, the Blue Jays designated Brett de Geus for assignment.
(Editor note WE SIGNED SOMEONE!!! And not to a minor league contract!!!!)
