The Toronto Blue Jays have a new top 100 prospect on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list.
On Tuesday, it was announced by the publication’s Twitter account that Trey Yesavage now ranks 99th on the list after Brooks Lee graduated.

With their first-round pick in the 2024 draft, the Blue Jays selected Trey Yesavage as the 20th overall pick out of East Carolina University. After he broke out in 2023, Yesavage became one of the draft’s best prospects, posting a 2.03 ERA in 93.1 innings pitched, along with a 40.4 K% and an 8.9 BB%.
However, the 21-year-old hasn’t pitched yet in the Jays organization, as they tend to give high-round pitching prospects the rest of the season off to work on things at their state-of-the-art complex. Their second-round pick, Khal Stephen, also hasn’t pitched yet, while Brandon Barriera and Ricky Tiedemann also went through similar scenarios shortly after being drafted.
Trey Day did not disappoint!

The right-handed pitcher ranks 99th on MLB Pipeline’s mid-season top 100 list, as well as the best Blue Jays prospect. Standing at 6’4”, 225 pounds, Yesavage features a 93-95 mph fastball that has touched 98 mph in the past. He also has an excellent slider and a splitter, each ranked as a 60 grade, along with the fastball. Yesavage’s fourth pitch is a curveball that’s graded at 50.
It should only take a handful of seasons for Yesavage to make the big leagues if all goes right, as his current estimated time of arrival, according to MLB Pipeline, is 2026. He’ll likely start the 2025 season in Single-A, but could quickly rise up the ranks given his age and ability.
Yesavage is the only Blue Jays’ prospect to rank on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 list. Thanks to receiving Tommy John surgery (a common thread among Jays’ prospect pitchers this season), Ricky Tiedemann fell all the way to fourth on the Jays’ top prospect list. Moreover, Orelvis Martinez is in the midst of an 80-game suspension for PED, meaning he also fell off the list.
