The Classic Baseball Era Non-Players Committee have voted Dick Allen and Dave Parker into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Our vote here had Allen getting enough votes, and he should have been elected to the Hall while he was still alive to enjoy it. You can see his career numbers here.
Parker didn’t get the 75% needed in our vote, but the Committee (as they like to be called) voted him in. Parker did play play 13 games with the Jays. His career numbers are here.
Congratulations to both.
I would have voted for Luis Tiant.
It sounds like the Juan Soto sweepstakes is coming to the finish line. There are reports that the Jays are still in the running and that they aren’t. I’m not going to worry about it until it happens or doesn’t happen. It does seem like the Jays have made a competitive offer.
